With so many different types, sizes, and features to choose from, buying a new oven can be a daunting process. To find out which oven is best for your needs, consider how much space you have, the style of your kitchen, and your cooking habits. Our helpful oven guide answers the most commonly asked questions:

Installation types: freestanding or integrated oven?

While personal preferences do play a part, the type of oven is often determined by the layout and design of your kitchen. A freestanding oven slots easily into any available space whereas an integrated oven (built-in oven and built-under oven) must be professionally installed. Those who have the space and want more cooking possibilities can choose between a freestanding, built-in or built-under double oven.

Integrated ovens

Integrated ovens are installed independently of the cooktop, offering more versatility. They can fit into a 60cm-high niche under the work surface or in a tall unit - vertically or horizontally at a height that suits.

Freestanding ovens

For those who value flexibility, our freestanding wall oven and hob appliances are designed to make a style statement wherever they stand. Available with modern gas, induction, radiant or combi hobs, and the option of interior cleaning support technology.

What is a double oven?

A double oven is an oven with a separate grill compartment. This lets you do so much more in much less time. Siemens double ovens are packed with innovative technology and practical cooking features, giving you a full menu of options at your fingertips.

What size oven do I need?

Oven sizes vary depending on the model. However, ovens typically measure 60x60cm for standard models, 60x30cm for compact models, and 90x 60cm for bigger models – with double ovens exceeding that. It’s important to choose an oven that fits the space available in your kitchen. If space is flexible, consider how often and how much you’ll be cooking. Siemens’ ovens come in four sizes: standard, compact, XL, and XXL. To know which size is right for you, we’ve provided the exact oven dimensions for each size.

What heating types can I choose from?

There are 6 different oven heating methods: conventional, convection, microwave, steam, gas and wood. All new Siemens ovens use convection heating however, some models include either an integrated microwave, steam functionality, or both.

What is a self-cleaning oven?

A self-cleaning oven (or pyrolytic oven) uses extremely high temperatures, up to 500 degrees Celsius, to turn food residue into ash. This can be easily wiped away without scrubbing or detergent. In addition to self-cleaning, Siemens offers ovens with technology to prevent dirt build-up and make cleaning easier.

Siemens ovens: clean at a touch with activeClean

Clean at a touch: activeClean

Clean your oven at the touch of a button with a pyrolytic oven. Remove any loose food first, then let activeClean turn all residue from baking, roasting, and grilling to ash at high temperature. Simply wipe up what remains.

Siemens ovens: stop dirt build-up with ecoClean

Stop dirt build-up: ecoClean

Ovens that get less dirty need less cleaning. Siemens ecoClean is a special coating that disintegrates dirt and reduces odors during cooking. It regenerates every time you heat it, for the life of the appliance.

Siemens ovens: soften things up with humidClean

Soften things up: humidClean

Perfect for an in-between clean. Simply add a drop of dishwashing liquid to 400ml of water and pour onto the cooled oven floor. Let it evaporate at 80 degrees bottom heat, then wipe away the softened dirt.

What type of oven is best for baking?

If you’re passionate about baking, you’ll want to find an oven that best suits your needs and space. Standard and compact size ovens are ideal for the occasional cake or batch of cookies for family and friends. For more regular baking and larger batches, opt for an XL or XXL. In terms of heating methods, a convection oven is the best choice. However, Siemens ovens include several innovative features that ensure perfect baking results.

What innovative oven features do Siemens offer?

Today’s advanced technology has enabled all kinds of innovative oven features, such as touch screen navigation, childproof locking, remote diagnostics, and more.

What benefits does a WIFI-connected smart oven give me?

With WiFi connectivity, you can control your oven using an application on your smartphone. This allows you to preheat the oven before you arrive home, adjust settings after you’ve left, and receive notifications.

What else to consider:
