Enjoyed all over the world, iced coffee is exactly that, traditionally brewed, hot coffee, served over ice. The result, a refreshingly cool beverage that gives you a much-needed caffeine boost without breaking a sweat.

How to make it.

When making a delicious, refreshing iced coffee, the basics are literally all in the name. You start by brewing a strong, fresh pot of coffee. Making it stronger than usual will compensate for the melting ice diluting your brew. Then simply cool it by pouring and serving it over ice.

How to serve.

When serving the perfect iced coffee all you need is a tall glass and some ice cubes. Everything else, is a matter of taste. Some aficionados like to add sweeteners and flavoured syrups to their hot coffee before pouring it over ice, and others prefer adding ice-cold milk, and even ice cream. The choice is entirely yours.

Coffee Fact.

In countries like Germany and Austria, iced coffee or “Eiskaffee” is often cooled down with vanilla ice cream and topped with whipped cream for extra enjoyment.

The differences.

Cold brew.

When it comes to preparation, iced coffee and cold brew are opposites. While an iced coffee is prepared hot and then chilled, a cold brew is made at low temperatures, relying on time instead of temperature. A cold brew is typically less acidic and bitter than iced coffee.
