Major coffee producing countries.

To produce incredible coffee, you need the perfect combination of temperature, rainfall, elevation and soil. Nutrient-rich soil with a pH between 5 and 6 is ideal for growing high-quality coffee.

Brazil.

As the leading global producer of coffee beans for over 150 years, chances are you have enjoyed a cup of coffee that had its origins in this South American country. Coffee plantations cover about 27,000 square kilometres of Brazil with the majority located in Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo, and Parana.

Vietnam.

Vietnam is the second largest producer of coffee in the world. The climate and altitude of Vietnam favours Robusta coffee, accounting for 97% of their total coffee output. Speaking of outputs, coffee is the second largest agricultural export of Vietnam, second only to rice.

Columbia.

Columbia’s perfect climate has enabled it to produce some of the world’s best coffee. However, climate change has had a negative impact with rising temperatures and increased rainfall threatening the world’s largest producer of arabica coffee.

Indonesia.

Indonesia has an ideal geographical location for coffee production. It is near the equator and has numerous mountainous regions that are well suited for coffee production. As the climate favours lower-quality Robusta beans Indonesian coffee producers focus more on quantity over quality.

Ethiopia.

Ethiopia is the home of Arabica, the most popular beans worldwide. It's no surprize then that coffee is not only a huge part of their lives but livelihoods as well, accounting for over 28% of their exports.
