What is the difference between the EQ900, EQ900plus and EQ.9plus?

The main difference is that the EQ900 plus includes automatic descaling and cleaning (autoCalc’n clean) for effortless cleaning and descaling, whereas the EQ900 and EQ.9 plus (the predecessor model) does not. Additionally, six baristaMode aroma settings (the EQ.9 plus has five) and five temperature settings – two more than the EQ.9 plus. These additional settings allow you to further fine-tune taste and create your own signature coffee creations. Finally, the EQ9 has a 5-inch display and is operated via a rotary push dial and the EQ900 and EQ900 plus models have a larger, high-resolution 6.8-inch touchscreen display and full-touch operation.

Can i make a pot of coffee with the EQ900?

Absolutely. The EQ900 includes a pot function, which allows you to brew up to 750ml of cafe crema with one touch. Alternatively, you can use the doubleCup feature to prepare 2 speciality coffees at the same time. This includes all milk-based coffee drinks. To activate Siemens EQ900 pot function, simply select it in the beverages menu. For the new EQ900 iAroma model, activate this function in the XL beverages category.

How to clean a Siemens EQ900?

Cleaning and descaling the EQ900 is quick and easy. First, a message on the display will let you know when cleaning or descaling or calc'n Clean (combined cleaning and descaling) is needed. Then, simply select the suggested programme and follow the step-by-step instructions on the display screen. For cleaning, place a cleaning tablet in the small box within the coffee bean container. Descaling tablets directly go into the water container, along with half a litre of warm tap water. Visit our online shop to purchase Siemens cleaning tablets and descaling tablets. The EQ900 plus includes automatic cleaning and descaling. All you need to do is insert the cleaning and descaling cartridges into the machine and replace them when they are empty. To do this, simple follow the prompts when the notification appears on screen.

Cleaning the EQ900 milking system?

To ensure your machine stays hygienic and your coffee tastes great, it’s important to keep the milk system clean. All EQ900 machines include the autoMilk Clean function, which delivers a short burst of steam after each drink made with milk. Occasionally, however, you will need to run the milk cleaning programme which you will find in the cleaning and maintenance menu. Cleaning the EQ900 milk system with the machines cleaning programme only takes 2 minutes and requires no detergent tablets.

Does the EQ900 have two bean containers and grinders

Yes, depending on the model you choose. Select models of both, the EQ900 and EQ900 plus (article number starting with: TQ907.., TQ917.. or TQ927..) have 2 separate bean containers and 2 high-quality ceramic grinders. This allows you to enjoy two different types of beans and/or roasts without having to constantly empty and refill the container. The separate grinders also ensures there is no mixing of grind residues from different bean varieties.

How does the Siemens EQ900 baristaMode work?

baristaMode lets you precisely tailor all six brewing parameters: strength, amount, temperature, grinding level, contact time, coffee-to-milk ratio. By adjusting these parameters, you can explore the full range of flavours within each bean and fine-tune the aroma profile to your taste.

Does the EQ900 have a cold brew setting?

Yes. For a cool coffee drink with fruitier flavours, simply select the Cold Brew option in the drinks menu. The Siemens EQ900 menu also includes Cold Brew Macchiato, for those who enjoy the unique flavour of Cold Brew but want a creamy coffee.

Does the EQ900 have a water filter?

Yes, depending on the model. Most EQ900 machines do come with a water filter and those that do not can be fitted with one. If your water is hard or soft, using a water filter ensures a rich and full-bodied flavour. It also reduces how often you’ll need to descale. To install a water filter, simply tap the symbol and follow the on-screen instructions. You can find our recommended Brita Intenza filter in the Siemens Online Shop. NOTE: Some local variants of the EQ900 do not include a water filter. To find out if this is available in your country, ask your local Siemens appliances dealer.

Does the EQ900 connect to an app?

Yes. The EQ900 and EQ900 plus are WiFi-enabled and can be paired with the Siemens Home Appliances app, which gives you access to advanced connectivity features.
