Not to be mistaken for iced coffee, cold brew takes a more “chilled” approach to producing delicious drinks – using time as opposed to heat and pressure to extract wonderful flavours from the humble coffee bean. Another distinct difference between a traditional cup of coffee and cold brew, is that with cold brew, there’s no cup in sight! This cool drink is served in a tall glass instead.

How to make it.
You don’t need a PhD in delicious to make your own cold brew, you just need patience, and coarse ground coffee. The most common method requires you to immerse coarse ground coffee in water at a 1:5 ratio, let it steep for 18 – 24 hours, strain, and serve.

How to serve it.
Normally, cold brew is served in a tall glass. And as far as rules go, that’s about it. With or without ice? Milk or no milk? Sweet or not? That’s completely up to you.
The differences.
Iced coffee.
Iced coffee is exactly that, a normal coffee (brewed with hot water) poured over ice. Iced coffee is characteristically more watery, acidic, and more bitter than its cold brew counterpart.
