How many hob burners / zones do I need?

Most households are well served by 3–5 cooking zones: 2–3 zones work for couples, 4–5 for families, and 5+ for frequent entertaining or batch cooking. Choose more zones if you regularly use several pans at once or large cookware.

  • Siemens' freeInduction cooktops provide one large cooking surface that allows you to place cookware of any size anywhere, holding up to six pots and pans
  • flexInduction cooktops come with flexible cooking zones that automatically adapt to your cookware
  • combiZone consists of two classic cooking zones that can be connected to create one large zone
  • Classic two-ring circular cooking zones models are ideal for both small and big cookware
Which hob is most energy-efficient?

Induction hobs are typically considered the most energy efficient option. Induction cooking works by creating a magnetic field between the pan and the copper coil beneath the glass surface. Because heat is only produced where you need it, induction hobs reduce energy loss to the surrounding air and countertop, shorten heat‑up and cool‑down times, and give precise temperature control.

What pots & pans can I use on a Siemens hob?

Cookware is an important consideration when choosing a hob. Induction hobs will only work with stainless steel and cast iron, or pots and pans that have an induction plate built into the base. Gas hobs will work with all cookware, including ceramic and stone. Electrical ceramic hobs work best with aluminium, stainless steel and copper cookware.

Standard Ceramic Glass

The deep‑black, single‑pane ceramic glass gives our standard Induction Hobs a sleek, minimalist look. The smooth surface wipes clean easily; however, dragging rough‑bottomed pans (like cast iron) or using abrasive cleaners can cause fine scratches. Gentle handling and suitable cleaners preserve the glass’s finish for years.
